Insurance Premium Payment Associate

Overview

Sentara Health Plans is seeking to hire an Insurance Premium Payment Associate. The position is full-time, working first shift with a hybrid schedule requiring 2 days a week in office. Standard working hours are 9:00am to 6:00pm EST, Monday through Friday.

Position Location

2 in-office days per week at Sentara Park 1300 in Virginia Beach.

Responsibilities

• Responds to record and process telephonic payment inquiries throughout the day in a higher volume call queue environment.
• Takes both initial and ongoing payments for insurance products while maintaining a high level of customer service.
• Works in multiple computer programs at a time.
• Maintains a high level of service to customers while managing changing volume demands of the call center.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• No specific certification or licensure requirements.
• 1-year customer service experience REQUIRED.
• Payment and/or billing experience in healthcare is highly preferred.
• Computer skills & strong verbal skills in English REQUIRED.
• Experience in a call center & be detailed-oriented highly preferred.
• Healthcare environment experience a plus.
• Reliable transportation essential to success in role.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification/Licensure: No specific certification or licensure requirements.
