Insurance Premium Auditor (Part-Time | Field & Hybrid Audits)

About the Role

Earn $30–$45 per billable hour with a flexible schedule that includes both local field audits and remote hybrid audits completed from your home office. This part-time position services the Binghamton, NY territory and allows you to control your workload and earnings.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site and remote audits for commercial insurance policies
• Review payroll records, tax filings, general ledgers, and other financial documents
• Interview business owners and key personnel
• Schedule and manage audit appointments
• Apply insurance classification and rating rules
• Prepare professional audit reports using Microsoft Excel and proprietary systems
• Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the audit process

Territory & Travel

• Service the Binghamton, NY area with local field audits
• Supplement field work with hybrid audits completed from home
• Manage your own appointments and schedule
• Workload varies based on available assignments and the amount of work you choose to accept

Requirements

• Associate degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience
• Experience in accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, auditing, insurance, or financial record review
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and business software
• Reliable transportation for local travel

Preferred Qualifications

• Insurance premium audit experience
• Payroll analysis experience
• Commercial insurance background
• Knowledge of Workers' Compensation and General Liability classifications
