About the role
This role focuses on learning how to review insurance company practices to ensure compliance with Pennsylvania laws. You will develop skills needed to support fair treatment of consumers and proper industry operations.
Responsibilities
- Participate in market conduct examinations at company sites, department offices, or through telework to assess compliance with statutes and regulations
- Review company records, policy documents, complaints, and related materials to evaluate compliance during examinations
- Identify violations of laws and ensure supporting documentation is collected by examiners
- Evaluate claims handling processes, analyze payment trends, identify issues, and recommend corrective actions
- Ensure insurance producers maintain proper and active licenses
Qualifications
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Four years of paraprofessional experience in insurance, risk management, business administration, public administration, public policy, finance, economics, or accounting; or
- A bachelor’s degree in insurance, risk management, business administration, public administration, public policy, finance, economics, accounting, or a related area; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 6 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
Other Requirements:
- You must meet the PA residency requirement.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Schedule
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch
- No telework option available for this position
