Insurance Inspector - Rapid City, SD

About the role

We are seeking EXPERIENCED INDEPENDENT CONTRACTORS to complete insurance underwriting inspections.

Responsibilities

• Travel to insureds' business sites to evaluate hazards and safety concerns.
• Interview the business owner and tour the premises.
• Make measurements of the buildings as required.
• Take photos and identify hazards and safety concerns.
• Inspect areas where we have workers’ compensation field inspections to assign.

Requirements

• Strong oral and written communication skills in English

• Mental aptitude; ability to see spatial relationships
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• The ability to interact professionally via telephone or in person, with policyholders (insureds), clients, and their representatives

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial property inspections is preferred.
• The volume of work varies by location, ranging from one day’s worth of work to several days or more per week.
• An insured, reliable vehicle is required.
• Access to high-speed Internet is necessary.
• A digital camera is needed.

Benefits

• Earnings are commission-based, with each inspection paid by the hour based on its length and complexity.
