Insurance Inspector - Des Moines, IA
About the role
We are seeking experienced independent contractors to complete insurance underwriting inspections. Our services to insurance company customers primarily focus on commercial & residential inspections as well as workers’ compensation inspections.
Responsibilities
- Travel to insureds' business sites to evaluate hazards and safety concerns.
- Interview business owners and tour the premises.
- Make measurements of buildings as required.
- Take photos and identify hazards and safety concerns.
- Work in locations where we have WC field inspections to assign.
- Inspectors must have an insured, reliable vehicle, access to high-speed Internet, and a digital camera.
- Earnings are commission-based, with each inspection paid by the hour based on its length and complexity.
Requirements
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
- A strong work ethic.
- A high degree of personal integrity.
- Attention to detail.
- Mathematical aptitude; ability to see spatial relationships.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- The ability to interact professionally via telephone or in person with policyholders (insureds), clients, and their representatives.
