Job Details
The firm is looking to add a Litigation Attorney to their Knoxville office. Attorneys with 3+ years of civil litigation experience are encouraged to apply. Insurance defense experience is required. Candidates must be licensed to practice in Tennessee. A book of business is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload involving insurance defense litigation matters.
- Conduct complex legal research and analysis to develop innovative case strategies.
- Draft, review and negotiate legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, responses, and other legal correspondences.
- Represent clients in court, before government agencies, or in private legal matters.
- Conduct and defend depositions effectively to gather or provide critical case information.
- Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, judges, and others involved in the case.
- Collaborate with legal team members to ensure a coordinated and efficient approach to meeting client needs.
- Stay updated with the latest legal trends, regulations, and rulings that may affect your cases.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
- Admitted to practice in the state of Tennessee and in good standing.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Insurance Defense Litigation.
- Proven experience in taking and defending depositions.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, capable of explaining complex legal issues to non-lawyers.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite.
