Insurance Counsel
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate P&C insurance and reinsurance agreements, product filings, policy forms, and claims documentation.
- Provide legal guidance on P&C product development, compliance, and launch strategy, including multi-state regulatory filings and product approval processes.
- Collaborate with internal and client teams on new product initiatives, ensuring alignment with state laws and business objectives.
- Advise on claims handling, processing procedures, policy interpretation, and dispute resolution.
- Support insurance and reinsurance deal processes, including due diligence, structuring, and regulatory approvals.
Qualifications
- Mid-level attorney with 8-14 years of experience in insurance law with a primary focus on Property & Casualty (not life or annuity).
- Hands-on experience with P&C product development and market launches.
- Strong knowledge of state-by-state P&C regulations and experience conducting multi-state surveys or analyzing new product requirements.
- Experience with claims processing and reinsurance transactions.
- Juris Doctor degree (or equivalent) and licensed to practice law in a U.S. jurisdiction.
Preferred Skills
- Prior in-house experience with an insurance carrier or reinsurer.
- Familiarity with reinsurance deal execution and claims litigation.
- Ability to work effectively in project-based, fast-paced environments.

Benefits
The estimated total compensation for full-time Axiom attorney roles is $104,500-325,000 per year, while non-attorney roles range from $71,250-309,750 per year. Compensation decisions are based on various factors, including experience, skills, certifications, location, and business needs.
