Responsibilities: Process and submit medical claims to insurance carriers accurately and in a timely mannerVerify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointmentsReview and resolve claim denials, rejections, and appealsPost insurance and patient payments, adjustments, and credits to accountsFollow up on outstanding accounts receivable and unpaid claimsCommunicate with patients regarding billing inquiries, balances, and payment plansEnsure compliance with coding guidelines, payer policies, and HIPAA regulations Requirements: 1-3 years of experience in medical billing, coding, or insurance verificationInsurance Billing/Coding certification preferredFamiliarity with rheumatology, specialty care, or physician office billing preferredKnowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codingExperience working with electronic health records (EHR) and practice management softwareStrong understanding of insurance payer guidelines, EOBs, and claim adjudicationExcellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilityProfessional, patient-focused communication skills — both written and verbalEpic experience preferred.
