Insurance Authorization Specialist

Duties and Responsibilities
- Receive potential candidates for nursing home placement and verify insurance
- Submit appropriate documentation to authorization entities to obtain authorization for the stay
- Communicate statuses of authorizations including approvals and denials to all applicable parties
- Communicate with hospital staff including but not limited to social workers and discharge planners about the timing of patient discharge to the facility
- Afford assistance to the screeners with various tasks related to screening when necessary
- Check websites for patient financial responsibility information/instructions and alert the applicable teams
Qualifications
- Minimum 1-2 years of health care experience
- 2 plus years of insurance or authorization related experience preferred
- Experience long term care reimbursement preferred

- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Point Click Care strongly preferred
Pay and Benefits
Pay range $22 - $27 per hour
Benefits include health, dental, 401K, vacation, and PTO.
