About the role

Kemper is a diversified insurance holding company with over 100 years of history, committed to serving the insurance needs of modest-income families. As a Life Insurance Sales Agent, you will conduct frequent personal home visits to collect premiums, sell new policies, and address service needs. New unlicensed agents begin with a paid training period, including study tools and guidance to pass licensing exams. Once licensed, you’ll manage an existing book of business, earning a percentage of collected premiums and commissions on new sales. Income potential grows with your performance, and superior achievements are recognized through awards, prizes, and company-sponsored trips.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct sales presentations, recommend products, and close new sales
  • Prospect for new sales opportunities
  • Maintain strong customer relationships by collecting premiums on a pre-arranged schedule
  • Respond promptly to service requests such as beneficiary changes, claims, and loans
  • Handle record keeping, accounting for money collected, and processing policy paperwork
  • Grow the assigned territory through new sales
  • Build strong working relationships with customers
  • Devote the time necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the role
  • Pursue continuous professional development in insurance products and sales effectiveness

Requirements

  • Customer service experience
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Valid driver’s license with required auto insurance coverage
  • Dependable vehicle for daily travel
  • Ability to pass a background check, motor vehicle report, and drug screening
  • Authorization to work in the United States

Training & Preparation

  • Licensing: Free access to study tools and professional guidance to prepare for licensing exams
  • Training: Onboarding development program including self-study, classroom instruction, and field mentoring by your Sales Manager
