About the role

Northwest Partners is supporting a major initiative with a top-tier organization in the insurance space and is looking for an experienced Agency Development Manager to contribute to the success of this work. In this role, you will help expand agency partnerships, support business growth, and serve as a trusted advisor to agency partners through relationship management, training, and strategic collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and strengthen relationships with assigned agency partners to drive qualified business opportunities and long-term success.
  • Generate premium growth through ongoing engagement with new and existing agencies using phone, email, virtual meetings, and in-person visits.
  • Identify and recruit new agency partners through prospecting and business development activities.
  • Deliver onboarding, product training, and ongoing education on systems, underwriting guidelines, and product offerings.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on products, systems, and industry trends to support agency success.
  • Provide account management support while maintaining accurate agency activity records within Salesforce.
  • Partner with internal marketing teams to ensure consistent and effective agency communications.
  • Monitor agency performance metrics and recommend additional training or improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with product management to share market intelligence and recommend product enhancements.
  • Consistently achieve established individual and team performance goals.
  • Travel frequently throughout the assigned territory to conduct agency visits, meetings, conferences, and industry events.
  • Represent the organization professionally during agency meetings, conferences, and trade shows.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of Property & Casualty insurance industry experience.
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently, including overnight travel within an assigned territory.
  • Strong relationship-building and consultative communication skills.
  • Experience supporting agency partners, customers, or business development initiatives.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM platforms such as Salesforce.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to adapt to changing business priorities while maintaining a positive, solution-oriented approach.
  • Results-driven mindset with the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, coachable, and collaborative team player.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and build productive internal and external relationships.
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to maintain acceptable driving and insurance requirements for business travel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Property & Casualty insurance experience.
  • Active Property & Casualty insurance license.
  • Experience with excess and surplus lines or specialty insurance products.
  • Previous outside sales or agency account management experience.
  • Advanced Salesforce CRM experience.
  • Experience delivering virtual and in-person product presentations and training.
  • Comfortable building relationships through daily in-person, phone, and virtual interactions.
  • Spanish bilingual proficiency is a plus.
