Insurance Accounting Associate

Duties

• Process and post commission statements, bank deposits, and carrier payments.
• Communicate with the client services team and Account Managers to resolve direct bill and invoicing/billing issues within Agency Management System.
• Aid in balance sheet reconciliations, including bank accounts, direct bill commissions, payables, etc.
• Research and resolve any issues that might be uncovered by reconciliations.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Might be required to work additional hours during month-end reporting to meet company deadlines.

Requirements

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interpret abstract information.
• Demonstrate ability to take initiative and achieve results in a fast-paced and changing environment.
• Confident, self-starter who works independently.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and multi-task.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree in finance or accounting preferred.
• Minimum of one (1) - two (2) years accounting experience required, preferably in a shared services accounting environment.
• Prior experience in billing, accounts payable, or account receivable, preferred.
