About the role
The Account Manager oversees client relationships and business operations within a designated region. Goals include increasing agent knowledge and production with appointed carriers, expanding with other carriers, and providing training on new products, processes, and best practices.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients within the assigned region.
- Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key stakeholders.
- Regularly schedule, coordinate, and conduct agent training sessions on individual and regional basis.
- Achieve and exceed sales and revenue targets for the region.
- Identify opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and new business development.
- Collaborate with the sales team to develop and execute regional strategies.
- Conduct regular account reviews to evaluate performance and strengthen relationships.
- Use data-driven analysis to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
- Schedule, coordinate, and conduct monthly internal meetings with staff to address agent touch points and new carrier updates.
- Collect and communicate feedback from agent training sessions to appropriate departments to drive improvements.
- Responsible for improving overall agency production by training new agencies and identifying/removing obstacles in current agency production.
- Identify opportunities and conduct agency marketing visits with appointed agencies to stimulate higher production with on-site training on multi-market solutions.
- Complete quarterly carrier evaluations to include production levels and incentive recommendations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years' experience marketing P&C, including marketing to Independent Agents.
- Experience training and developing agency staff.
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve and communicate effectively.
- Ability to understand and review agency qualifications for appointment and make recommendations for appointment or dismissal.
- Experience selling and marketing to large territories P&C personal lines and Commercial products including homeowners, and personal auto is a plus.
- Excellent written and oral communication and organizational skills, including formal presentation skills before both small and large groups.
- Based in or willing to work in the San Jose, San Francisco, or East Bay areas of California.
Qualifications
- Must have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- Must have 5+ years' experience marketing P&C, including marketing to Independent Agents.
- Must have experience training and developing agency staff.
- Must demonstrate ability to problem solve and communicate effectively.
- Must be able to understand and review agency qualifications for appointment and make recommendations for appointment or dismissal.
- Experience selling and marketing to large territories P&C personal lines and Commercial products including homeowners, and personal auto is a plus.
- Must possess excellent written and oral communication and organizational skills, including formal presentation skills before both small and large groups.
- Must be based in or willing to work in the San Jose, San Francisco, or East Bay areas of California.

Pay
The base pay range for the role is $75,000 - $85,000 + Commission. Exact compensation may vary based on several job-related factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: skill set, experience, education/training, location, business needs, and market demands.
