About the role

Join our team as an Insulator Journeyperson and play a critical role in delivering high-quality insulation solutions for our ship repair and modernization projects. You will be responsible for the installation and removal of insulation on various components onboard ships in different stages of repair and modernization.

Responsibilities

• Measure, cut, and fabricate materials for insulation application to bulkheads, overheads, piping systems, vent ducts, machinery, and equipment to reduce heat loss or absorption, prevent moisture condensation, and deaden sound.
• Perform related tasks as assigned, some of which may become essential to the position.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of related experience in all facets of insulation on military and/or commercial vessels.
• Ability to read and comprehend specifications and drawings.
• Knowledge of piping systems and layout patterns for hull board and lagging materials.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with insulation materials and techniques.
• Knowledge of shipyard operations and safety protocols.

Pay

Full-Time Salary Range: $61,360 - $93,662. Individual salaries are determined by factors including business considerations, local market conditions, internal equity, and candidate qualifications such as skills, education, and experience.
