Overview

Prime Controls is seeking instrumentation students with a strong work ethic for its summer internship program. The internship aims to provide students with firsthand experience in the instrumentation and controls industry, helping them decide if a career in controls aligns with their interests. Our internship program is designed to support the development of future professional Instrumentation Technicians.

A Typical Day at Prime Controls

• Inspecting and testing instrumentation and control systems to ensure optimal operation.
• Reading and interpreting complex technical drawings and schematics.
• Configuring and adjusting control systems and equipment according to production specifications.
• Receiving technical advice from staff and team members regarding system operation and troubleshooting complexities.

What You Will Bring

• The Basic Legally authorized to work in the job posting country.
• Pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree in instrumentation technology, electrical technology, or an equivalent technical program.
• Must be currently enrolled as a full-time student in an undergraduate program with a graduation date in Summer 2025 or later.
• Available to intern for a minimum of 6 continuous weeks.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Physical requirements and work environment expectations vary by position. Generally, roles at Prime Controls may involve moderate noise, occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions, and, depending on the role, work at heights or around airborne particles and electrical components. Physical activities may include standing, walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, as well as the use of hands, arms, and voice communication. Some roles may require lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements may include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
