Responsibilities
- Install, Calibrate, and configure instrumentation devices such as sensors, transmitter, controllers, and meters.
- Set up and wire electrical components, panel, and control systems according to engineering specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and testing of instrumentation and electrical equipment.
- Identify and address issues with sensors, wiring, and control systems to prevent operational disruptions.
- Maintain detailed records or maintenance activities, repairs and calibration results.
- Generate reports on equipment status, issues and recommendations for improvements.
- Collaborate with engineers and operators to optimize control systems performance and accuracy.
- Provide training and support to operations and maintenance personnel on the proper use and care of instrumentation and electrical systems.
Qualifications
- Ability To Perform all assigned duties.
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems arising during the test cycle.
- Troubleshoot motor controls (energized).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Maintain detailed records or maintenance activities, repairs and calibration results.
- Generate reports on equipment status, issues and recommendations for improvements.
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Read General Adjustment and P&ID drawings.
- Communicate with team members, engineers and customers to coordinate work and relay on information.
- Afford assistance with mechanical assembly.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization, reliability improvements and cost savings in instrumentation and electrical systems.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines during installation, maintenance, and repair activities.
- Ensure that instrumentation and electrical systems meet regulatory and industry standards.
- Comply with all applicable safety and environmental policies and procedures.
- Moderate understanding of compression service and functionality to understand customer needs.
- Strong knowledge of electrical principles, control systems and industrial instrumentation.
- Familiarity with various types of sensors, transmitters, PLCs and control loops.
- Proficiency in using testing and calibration equipment.
- Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Automation, or related field.
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
- Proven experience as an I&E technician or a similar role, with hands-on experience in installing, calibrating, and troubleshooting instrumentation and electrical systems.
- Must have a Journeyman electrician licensure.
- Technical training preferred.
- Minimum 1-3 years related experience.
- 2 years electrical experience.
- Some experience in the area of electronics.
Physical Demands
- Must be fit for duty for the job tasks being performed.
- Must meet the medical requirements necessary to wear PPE required by role (includes respiratory protection medical requirements as required by role).
- Constantly required to display good manual dexterity and to reach with hands and arms.
- Constantly required to talk and hear.
- Frequently required to sit while driving or using a PC.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, and twist with good balance.
- Regularly required to lift, move and carry up to 50 pounds and to push and pull up to 110 pounds.
- Occasionally required to carry at least 40 pounds with one hand for at least 10 feet.
- Occasionally required to crawl, climb in and around equipment, stairs and vertical ladders.
- Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
