About the Role

You will work on a multi-discipline engineering team involved in nuclear power plant Instrumentation and Control projects. These projects integrate electrical, computer, and mechanical engineering with control theory. Responsibilities include working with electronic process sensors, digital controllers, network topology, touchscreen displays, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, steam turbines, and reactors.

You will prepare specifications for the procurement of instrumentation and controls equipment, perform engineering calculations, and support station outage activities as required. The role offers opportunities to travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and to plant site locations for project coordination and field verification of designs.

Through mentoring, classroom-style technical sessions, and on-the-job training, you will expand your knowledge and skills in your engineering discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Work on nuclear power plant Instrumentation and Control projects integrating electrical, computer, and mechanical engineering with control theory.
  • Prepare specifications for procurement of instrumentation and controls equipment.
  • Perform engineering calculations.
  • Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and to plant sites for project coordination and field verification of designs.
  • Support station outage activities as required.
  • Utilize modern tools such as automation and AI to solve engineering problems, improve workflows, reduce rework, and deliver cost-effective designs.
  • Build or use automation for calculations, summarizing technical documents, or drafting design documentation, including appropriate use of agentic AI tools with strong engineering judgment.

Requirements

  • A BS or MS degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program, with a strong academic background and coursework in analog and digital control systems.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in design engineering for power plant control systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to solve problems using modern tools such as automation and AI.
  • Programming or scripting skills (e.g., Python, MATLAB, advanced Excel) to automate calculations, design checks, reporting, or data transformation are valued but not required.

Additional learning in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or related fields is beneficial for applying automation or agentic AI to engineering problems.

Pay

Compensation Range: $74,353 - $113,595. The total compensation package includes a base salary and a comprehensive benefits package. Individuals may also be eligible to participate in our yearly discretionary bonus.
