Position Summary
NECI's Asset Reliability business delivers industry-leading instrumentation, calibration, and flow measurement services to industrial sites across New England and New York. We partner closely with our customers to solve complex measurement challenges and deliver dependable, high-quality technical solutions. As an Instrumentation and Flow Specialist on the NECI Asset Reliability team, you are a hands-on technical leader in field instrumentation and flow calibration. Working independently or as part of a team, you will execute site services with precision, accuracy, and efficiency.
Principal Duties And Responsibilities
- Execute field service work independently or as part of a team, as required
- Perform advanced maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of field instrumentation
- Calibrate, configure, and troubleshoot flow instrumentation, including Coriolis, magnetic, vortex, and ultrasonic flow meters
- Perform in-line and bench verification of flow measurement devices and document results to applicable standards
- Collect, compile, analyze, and accurately record data gathered during calibration
- Identify out-of-tolerance conditions and perform corrective action through adjustment, component replacement, correction factors, and related methods
- Produce detailed, accurate site reports, calibration reports, and certificates
- Collaborate effectively with technicians, schedulers, account managers, and customers
- Support proposal development
- Mentor and train technicians in calibration and flow measurement concepts and procedures
- Manage and maintain test equipment to ensure ongoing measurement accuracy
- Provide uncompromising quality to all work processes in designated area of responsibility
- Has the authority to stop those work processes at any time it is believed that quality is being compromised

Qualifications
- Minimum High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 10 years of instrumentation and calibration experience
- Demonstrated hands-on experience calibrating, configuring, and troubleshooting flow instrumentation across Coriolis, magnetic, vortex, and ultrasonic technologies
- Working knowledge of flow measurement principles, installation effects, and applicable calibration standards
- Knowledge of or experience with ISO 17025
- Must be able to perform advanced math and algebra functions
- Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills
- Self-starter, honest, responsible, timely, detail oriented and self-sufficient
- Basic computer skills
- Proficient in use of MS Word and Excel
- Must have very good interpersonal and customer service skills
- Strong attention to details
- Appropriate and professional demeanor and appearance
Preferred Qualifications
- ISA Certification (Level 1&2)
- Military experience or certification in electronics
- Manufacturer training or certification on flow products (e.g., Micro Motion, Rosemount, Endress+Hauser, KROHNE)
Competencies
- In-depth experience testing, troubleshooting, and repairing pressure, temperature, analytical, liquid flow, mass flow, level, multivariable, humidity, weight, and speed instruments
- Experience using pressure calibrators (e.g. BEAMEX multi-calibrator / Fluke 721), multimeters, resistance simulators, conductivity solutions, pH buffers, tachometers, and temperature standards (e.g. Fluke 1523)
- Prefer previous experience working in Pharma, Power, or Utilities
- Experience with 4-20 mA current loops
- Experience in various BUS communication protocols
- Ability to perform tasks by referencing standard operating procedures (SOP’s)
- Ability to troubleshoot, program, and adjust instruments by referencing instrument manuals
- In depth experience and understanding of P&ID’s, and electrical drawings
- Flow Calibration Services: Calibration, configuration, and troubleshooting of Coriolis mass flow meters, including zero verification, density calibration, and meter health diagnostics
- Calibration, configuration, and troubleshooting of magnetic (Mag) flow meters, including empty-pipe detection, electrode diagnostics, and grounding verification
- Calibration, configuration, and troubleshooting of vortex flow meters, including low-flow cutoff, K-factor verification, and Reynolds-number considerations
- Calibration, configuration, and troubleshooting of ultrasonic flow meters (clamp-on and in-line), including transducer setup, path configuration, and signal-strength verification
- In-situ and bench verification of flow instrumentation against reference standards, with documentation aligned to ISO 17025 expectations
- Configuration and diagnosis of flow transmitters via ProLink, / HART communications, including application of correction factors based on process conditions
Compensation
This position offers a base salary range of $75,000 to $85,000, based on experience and qualifications. The role is also eligible for a variable compensation plan. The posted salary range represents a good faith estimate of the expected compensation for this role at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as relevant experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and business needs.
