About the role

Adelphia Gateway LLC, a subsidiary of New Jersey Resources, is seeking an Instrumentation and Electrical Technician to join their team. This role involves implementing and maintaining electrical power circuits and equipment, control and automation systems, and electronic and pneumatic equipment used in pipeline applications, compressor stations, plant operations, and measurement facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Install, inspect, maintain, operate, troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate various mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical and electronic equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance checks on pumps, compressors, drivers, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Calibrate pressure transmitters, temperature transmitters, gas meters, and troubleshoot gas meter errors.
  • Install and program remote terminal units.
  • Perform routine odorant testing.
  • Install and troubleshoot flow computers.
  • Work with Pipeline Controllers in performing point-to-point testing.
  • Troubleshoot and tune gas regulators, control valves and actuators.
  • Maintain gas chromatographs.
  • Performs Inspection and Maintenance checks on all control systems.
  • Identify, report, and correct safety and environmental concerns.
  • Maintain electrical switch gear and power distribution up to 480V.
  • General upkeep and maintenance of all facilities and equipment as needed.
  • Complete all required safety and OQ training programs.
  • Aid in calculating, compiling, and/or preparing information and reports related to gas/liquid flow and quality, maintenance logs, sample collection, pipeline activities, and more.
  • Complete accurate records of repair and maintenance activities.
  • Document changes to as-built drawings as repairs are made.
  • Suggest equipment improvements and new equipment purchases.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in a job-related technical training or equivalent military training is required.
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience is preferred.
  • Ability to read and utilize equipment manuals, drawings, schematics, alignment sheets and P&ID drawings.
  • Knowledge and experience applying and interpreting results from common electrical measurement instruments (voltmeter, ammeter, ohmmeter, oscilloscope, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of National Electric Codes and proficiency with electronic test instruments.
  • Knowledge of process controls and gas processing fundamentals.
  • Must obtain OQ qualifications in concordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • May be required to achieve and maintain certifications as required to perform job duties.
  • Ability to maintain a working knowledge of regulatory requirements (OSHA, DOT, EPA and state regulations) and Company Standard Operating Procedures including required documentation.

Qualifications

  • Ability to use physical force to lift, push, pull and operate equipment and tools.
  • Will climb and work at various heights and may work various positions.
  • Must be able to work in areas with limited access or cramped spaces.

Skills

  • Ability to work in a safety-sensitive role under the U.S. Department of Transportation Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration's (PHMSA) regulations.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements (OSHA, DOT, EPA and state regulations).
  • Proficiency with electronic test instruments.
  • Working knowledge of National Electric Codes.
  • Knowledge of process controls and gas processing fundamentals.

Pay

Expected base pay range for this role will be $77,000- $104,000. Base pay is based on several factors including, experience, skills, and knowledge. This role will be eligible to participate in an annual short term incentive program.

Schedule

This role is subject to overtime, 24/7 call out, and extended workdays and/or workweeks. This position is deemed safety-sensitive under the U.S. Department of Transportation Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration's (PHMSA) regulations. Among other things, employees in this position are subject to drug and alcohol testing, including pre-employment testing, random testing, reasonable suspicion testing and post-accident testing. PHMSA-required drug tests include testing for marijuana. The use of marijuana, or testing positive for marijuana, is disqualifying and will lead to removal from performing safety-sensitive functions as well as disciplinary action.
