Instrumentation and Controls Technician

Responsibilities
- Acting as the subject-matter expert in responding to work orders, troubleshooting, and providing calibration service on the production equipment.
- Effectively communicating with the site management team and the end user.
- Identifying and correcting any safety-related issues.
- Performing independent equipment evaluations to identify potential equipment failures.
- Performing General Maintenance of equipment.
- Utilizing software such as DeltaV, AMS, and Valve link to commission and troubleshoot equipment.
- Maintaining and calibrating all instrumentation associated with Water Discharge.
- Maintaining and repairing emissions monitoring and water treatment equipment to ensure all state and federal regulations are met.
- Utilizing strong mechanical and electrical skills to complete assignments.
- Operating various measuring, diagnostic, and testing instruments to help provide energy efficiency solutions.
- Operating a variety of equipment such as hand tools, laptop computers, and diagnostic hardware to perform work.
- Utilizing CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to track, schedule, calibrate, and maintain records for process equipment.
- Complying with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Analyzing and resolving work problems or assisting workers in solving work problems.
- Developing and monitoring work assignments for other technicians and coaches.
- Responding and providing service and feedback to the customer on all work orders while assuring compliance to codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Creating and modifying site operation procedures for equipment and recommending measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.
- Providing regular reports to senior management regarding throughput, performance, issues, and projects.
- Performing other duties as assigned by Management or Lead.
Requirements
- High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
- Six years of experience as an instrumentation and controls technician role including operating and maintaining steam driven turbines for power generation in a pharmaceutical, chemical, industrial, or related laboratory environment, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of Industrial Boiler Operation inclusive of any pressure, temperature, and flow monitoring equipment.
- Knowledge of Steam Turbine Operation working speeds, pressures, and safety protocols with steam driven turbines in a power plant/distribution center.
- Knowledge of Gas Turbine Operations.
- Knowledge of interrelationship between digital controls systems and field instrumentation.
- Knowledge of maintenance and operation of remotely operating valve inclusive of actuator, positioner, and valve itself.
- Ability to maintain monitoring equipment associated with ancillary systems.
- Understanding of process automation and integrated relationship with automated steam and water systems.
- Ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location.
- Ability to work overtime, holidays, weekends, and alternative work schedules.
- Ability to obtain an appropriate driver's license issued by the State Department of Motor Vehicles, as requested.
- Must be a United States citizen or permanent resident.
Qualifications
- Associate Degree or Technical School Certificate for Instrumentation and/or Electronics, or equivalent field experience.
- Experience with digital controls systems, PLCs, etc.
- Experience working with Reliability Engineers to determine Root Cause Failure Analysis and discuss vibration findings.
- Hands-on experience with the operation, repair and maintenance of Honeywell, Siemens, and Delta-V control equipment devices.
- Experience in calibration and repair on instrument transmitters including Pressure, Pressure Differential, Vacuum, Temperature, RH, CO2, Speed, Flow, and Level.
Skills
- Strong mechanical and electrical skills.
- Proficiency with software such as DeltaV, AMS, and Valve link.
- Ability to operate various measuring, diagnostic, and testing instruments.

34.00-38.00
Schedule
Typical work schedule is 7:00am-3:30pm M-F, days and hours vary based on business demand.
