Instrumentation and Controls Engineer

As part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team, you’ll help design and optimize control systems for a variety of processes, working closely with architects, engineers, and designers to deliver complete, world-class solutions for new facilities.

This position offers hands-on experience and expert mentorship to help you grow your technical skills and understanding of process control, instrumentation, and automation.

Responsibilities

• Develop P&IDs
• Size valves
• Specify instrumentation
• Design control panels
• Assign I/O
• Document and model design information
• Ensure compliance with building codes and industry standards

Requirements

• At least 8 years of work experience designing Instrumentation and Control Systems
• Working knowledge of PLC, PAC, DDC, DCS systems
• Ability to work onsite (hybrid) in Latham, NY

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer in Training (EIT) (preferred)
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Forward-thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Passion for buildings and construction

• Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $102,900.00 to $150,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Schedule

Hybrid work policy, allowing employees to split their work week between Jacobs offices/projects and remote locations.
