Summary of Job Duties
The RME Technician is responsible for ensuring that SPD prep/assembly and OR core technicians have reasonable access and information to find the reusable medical equipment (RME) they need to do their jobs (i.e. surgical/procedural instrumentation/implants requiring UAMS sterilization/scopes/etc.).
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED
- PREFERRED Qualifications: One year of experience as an Instrument Tech or recent certification as an Instrument Tech. Certified Instrument Tech.
Responsibilities
- Performs decontamination, assembly, and packaging of medical equipment and tools.
- Provides assistance to operating room staff.
- Provides staff with necessary supplies and/or equipment.
- Loads up and transports medical instruments and equipment.
- Performs tests on and utilizes mechanical equipment in the completion of duties.
- Ensures proper storage of instrumentation.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
