Instrument Room Technician, Full Time, Evenings - 8 hr shift

About the role

Works independently, performing all tasks related to the reprocessing and sterilization of surgical instruments. These tasks include maintenance, decontamination, prepping, sterilization, and proper handling and storage.

Responsibilities

• Maintain surgical instruments
• Perform decontamination processes
• Prep surgical instruments
• Sterilize instruments
• Handle and store instruments properly

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• One year of experience in acute healthcare
• Knowledge of surgical instruments and their use
• Knowledge of supplies and equipment used during sterile processing
• LA City Fire Card within 6 months of employment
• Prior experience in sterile processing preferred

Qualifications

• Knowledge of IAHCSMM (International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management) certification
