Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain survey instrumentation for low-tech activities such as profile surveys, line locations, Pipeline Re-Stake, Line Clearing, Line Locating, Loop Line Setup, and River/Road Crossings.
• Collect necessary survey data for assigned surveying activities including turning angles, shooting distances.
• Work closely with the Survey Party Chief to execute the survey work and implement project survey policies, guidelines, and procedures.
• Assign tasks to survey personnel and monitor their performance and documentation to ensure quality, consistency, and compliance to project requirements.
• Guide, coach, or motivate survey personnel as necessary to meet project schedules, budgets, and objectives.
• Resolve survey performance issues with the client representative and land owners that threaten the timely completion of project survey activities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED preferred
• Global Positioning Systems (GPS) knowledge preferred
• Minimum two years surveying experience with previous Instrumentman experience
• Knowledgeable in electronic data collection methods of cross-country pipeline surveying
• Knowledge of survey instrumentation operating procedures and survey data collection techniques
• ACSM Survey Technician Certificate preferred

• Must pass pre-employment and random drug tests
