Instrument and Electrical (I&E) Technician

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and maintain facility instrumentation systems, including automatic control valves, transmitters, controllers, and distributed control systems (DCS).
  • Perform steam tracing repairs and monitoring to ensure proper system functionality.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic system issues.
  • Utilize pneumatic and electronic test equipment for diagnostics and calibration.
  • Complete assigned maintenance service requests in a timely and safe manner.
  • Conduct mechanical and electrical repair work on plant equipment and facility infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Work closely with production teams to understand operational needs and equipment performance concerns.
  • Maintain and follow preventive maintenance schedules to ensure system reliability.
  • Promptly report any unusual occurrences, equipment damage, or potential issues to the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in industrial electrical or instrumentation preferred.
  • Experience in an industrial, chemical, or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, industrial instrumentation, and process controls.
  • Experience with troubleshooting and maintaining DCS, PLCs, and motor control systems is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
