About the role
The Instrument & Controls Technician will manage all phases of electrical and control equipment throughout the plant. Responsibilities include preventive, corrective, and emergency service, as well as troubleshooting DCS systems, PLCs, VFDs, motor control circuits, transmitters, flow meters, level controls, and burner management systems. Other duties may include helping redesign instrumentation and control systems, monitoring burning, conducting predictive analysis, updating Preventive Maintenance System, and working on a rotating shift schedule.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with electronic/electrical and pneumatic systems and equipment in an industrial environment.
- High School Diploma or equivalent and/or formal technical training.
- Familiarity with Programmable Logic Controllers and Distributive Control Systems.
- Ability to trouble shoot and diagnose instrumentation and controls.
- Ability to perform calibrations to pressure, flow, temperature and other sensing instrumentation.
- Proficient in the use of multimeters and smart calibrators.
- Ability to read electrical prints & P&IDs.
- Ability to trouble shoot OMRON PLC hardware and logic.
- Ability to trouble shoot Allen Bradley PLC hardware and logic.
- Ability to learn and fully utilize the user Operator Interface System “Citect”.
- Ability to learn and troubleshoot Ethernet communication in the Plant Control System.
- Ability to work on a rotating shift schedule and work overtime as needed including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb.
- Ability to lift/carry 50lbs.
- Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces.
- Consistently work in various weather conditions.
Pay
The hourly rate for this position is $40.19 (per hour).
Benefits
Position is covered under a Labor Union / Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). Pay and benefits will be according to CBA for the role.
