About the role
We are seeking an Instrument/Analyzer to support our Commerce City Refinery. The role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing process control system equipment to ensure the proper functioning of analytical systems.
Responsibilities
- Maintain online analytical instrumentation through preventative and corrective maintenance
- Perform routine checks and maintenance to ensure equipment functionality and reliability
- Maintain accurate and thorough records of all analytical equipment calibrations in accordance with site quality procedures and documentation best practices
- Diagnose and repair issues that impair proper functionality of analytical systems
- Support the resolution of non-scheduled priority jobs during normal and after hours
- Assist with updating and creating equipment specification sheets, CEMS equipment files, checklists, and procedures
- Respond to work orders and overtime situations as needed
- Identify opportunities to improve reliability
Requirements
- An Associate's Degree in the Instrument and Controls field OR successful completion of a formal program in the field of Process Instrumentation through military service or crafts apprenticeship program
- 5 years of recent practical experience in maintenance of industrial instrumentation and controls equipment (calibration of smart transmitters, PLC, DCS, AMS, rebuild control valves, etc)
- Current ISA (Formerly: Instrument Society of America) CCST Certification Level I (or equivalent)
Qualifications
Must have a valid driver's license and be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, employment verification, education verification, background checks, and other pre-employment assessments as a condition of employment.

- Strong knowledge of process instrumentation and controls
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex systems
- Proficiency in using various tools and equipment
- Good communication and problem-solving skills

Pay
$55.16 per hour with annual increases
Schedule
Regular 40-hour work week, 5x8 hour shifts Monday through Friday OR 4x10 hour shifts Monday through Thursday, depending on business needs
Location
Commerce City refinery, located at 5801 Brighton Blvd.
Other Key Details
- Paid overtime, often 100-600+ hours per year based on plant needs
- Heavy lifting, use of ladders, and working on elevated work sites such as scaffolds and towers may be required
- This position is safety-sensitive
