About the role
The Instructor, Technical Direction, Dance will be responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of dance productions, including set design, lighting, sound, and costume coordination.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all technical aspects of dance productions, ensuring they align with artistic vision and meet production standards.
- Work closely with choreographers, directors, and other technical staff to plan and execute technical elements of performances.
- Manage and coordinate the procurement, installation, and maintenance of technical equipment and materials.
- Collaborate with faculty and students to develop and implement training programs for technical roles.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
Requirements
- Proven managerial skills and the ability to foster a collaborative, team-based environment.
- Experience in dance production, preferably in a professional setting.
- Knowledge of stagecraft, lighting, sound, and costuming principles.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Dance or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in dance production or theater management.
Skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay
Salary range: $53,194 - $77,000 per year.
