Instructor, Supply Chain Logistics

Department: Transportation Innovation Center • Location: Transportation Center • Reports to: Director, Transportation Center • Part-Time Faculty (Non-Union) • Afternoon/evening hours, 2 days per week

About the role

Provides instructional training related to the non-credit bearing Manufacturing Skills Standards Council (MSSC) Supply Chain Logistics and Warehouse program. The instructor delivers quality instruction to students, stays current with developments and trends in supply chain management, and ensures the instruction aligns with the College’s mission to prepare students for the workforce.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction and prepare lesson plans based on established curriculum.
• Instruct and guide the class in an efficient and effective manner.
• Promote students’ development and effective use of skills in critical and analytical thinking, evaluation, communication, professionalism, customer service, computation, problem solving, and decision-making.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of student academic and attendance performance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• MSSC Certified Logistics Technician (CLA & CLT) Instructor certificate.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related supply chain discipline or related business field (significant related experience may substitute for education).
• Minimum of five years of experience in the related field.

Physical Demands / Working Conditions

• Work is performed in a normal, professional office environment with adequate lighting, heating, and ventilation.
• Typically involves sitting comfortably to perform duties, with repetitive motions using hands/fingers (e.g., computer mouse and keyboard).
• May require some walking, standing, bending, and carrying light items such as papers, files, pamphlets, or books.
• Work may also involve walking and standing during travel to and attendance at meetings, classes, and conferences away from the worksite.

Pay

$35.00 per hour.

Schedule

Afternoon/evening hours, 2 days per week.
