Instructor, Research Faculty Appointment, Genomic Medicine Department

UT MD Anderson · Houston, TX · 2 mo ago

About the role

The Instructor will plan, organize, and conduct independent and collaborative research activities with the goal of developing projects that can mature into independently funded research programs. The position involves participation in both internal and external collaborations, including multidisciplinary projects with investigators across UT MD Anderson and other institutions.

The research focus will involve experimental and computational studies aimed at defining pervasive cellular states that emerge in response to homeostatic tissue perturbations and may prime epithelial cells for oncogenic transformation. Emphasis will be placed on understanding how these altered cellular states suppress activation of normal checkpoints, accelerate tumorigenesis, and contribute to cancer initiation across different organ systems.

The Instructor will work closely with, and under the guidance of, the supervising Associate Professor while progressively developing greater scientific independence.
