This position is within the Professional and Enrichment Programs (PEP) unit in the University of Virginia (UVA) School of Continuing and Professional Studies (SCPS).
About the role
We are seeking one or more non-tenure track, part-time (faculty wage) lecturers to teach noncredit sessions and courses on leadership, communication, public administration, and coaching. The role includes serving as a mentor coach for aspiring coaches in the Organizational Leadership Coaching Certificate program.
Candidates must be able to lead engaging, interactive sessions both online (primarily on Zoom) and in person.
Responsibilities
- Teach noncredit sessions and courses in leadership, communication, public administration, and coaching.
- Mentor aspiring coaches in the Organizational Leadership Coaching Certificate program.
- Deliver engaging, interactive instruction in both online and in-person formats.
- Stay current with teaching strategies and technologies.
Requirements
- Professional Certified Coach (PCC) credential issued by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) for coaching education.
- PCC credential and mentor coach training for the ACC level for mentor coaching.
- Undergraduate degree (graduate degree preferred).
- At least 5 years of experience in a related content area.
- At least 3 years of teaching or training experience.
- Experience with online and in-person intensive training or education programs.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new teaching strategies and technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of higher education teaching or training experience.
- Relevant industry certifications and/or professional memberships.
- Proficiency using Canvas or similar Learning Management System (LMS) platforms.
