Position Profile

The College of Arts, Social Sciences, and Humanities (CASSH) at the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse is seeking to establish an instructor pool to support ongoing program needs. Potential instructors will be under the supervision of relevant department chairs and will teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses.

Job Duties

  • Prepare and hold classes (face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online)
  • Evaluate students' work and assess student outcomes
  • Provide regular and substantive feedback on student work
  • Maintain appropriate records
  • Hold office hours
  • May advise students and/or provide other service to the department

Required Qualifications

  • A Master’s Degree in a field appropriate to the needs of the department, or significant progress toward a doctorate degree
  • In rare circumstances, post-baccalaureate certification or licensure, or a combination of a baccalaureate and experience can be established as appropriate qualifications
  • Specific certification/licensure or clinical experience may be required depending on the program

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Facilitate classroom, online, and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses
  • Assess student performance
  • Develop instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction
  • Serve as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations
