Job Summary

Classroom Instructor

Job Duties

  • Teach courses in Humanities, Music, Art, Literature, or Philosophy at the college level.
  • Develop and deliver engaging lectures and facilitate discussions.
  • Evaluate student performance through quizzes, exams, and assignments.
  • Mentor students and provide guidance on academic and career paths.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop course materials and improve teaching methods.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in one of the following disciplines: Humanities, Music, Art, Literature, or Philosophy.
  • A minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in one of the above-discussed disciplines.
  • Two (2) years of college-level teaching experience preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching in a college setting.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse learning styles.

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly stand, walk, and use hands to handle or feel objects.
  • Sometimes stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Occasionally lift up to 10 lbs.

Reasoning Ability

  • Apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
  • Deal with nonverbal symbolism such as formulas, scientific equations, and graphs.
  • Deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.

Work Environment

  • May work in a laboratory setting.
  • Must be able to follow safety rules and regulations, operate laboratory equipment, and tolerate laboratory chemicals.
  • May work in a noisy environment.

Salary per faculty contract.

Work Hours

Hours vary based on departmental needs.
