Instructor of Social Studies Education

About the role

The Ball State University Department of History is searching for a secondary social studies education instructor for the 2026-2027 school year. Our social studies teaching students are highly sought after for teaching positions after graduation.

Responsibilities

• Teach secondary social studies education instructor courses.
• Place field experiences and supervise student teachers.
• Teach classes in middle and high school social studies education.
• Provide leadership in campus, community, and regional school relations.

Requirements

• M.S. or M.A. in Social Studies Education by date of appointment.
• Teaching experience in public schools.

Qualifications

• An ABD or MA/MS candidate would be considered.
• Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
