Instructor of Nuclear Medicine Imaging and Therapy
About the role
The Department of Radiology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Instructor position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years).
Requirements
- M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree
- Board eligibility or specialty certification in nuclear medicine, either current American Board of Nuclear Medicine certification or a CAQ in nuclear radiology from the American Board of Radiology
- Completion of a nuclear medicine or nuclear radiology ACGME-approved training program
Responsibilities
- Performing and interpreting nuclear medicine stress tests and EKGs
- Evaluating and treating patients with therapeutic radio-pharmaceuticals
- Conducting general nuclear medicine studies
- Participating in shared after-hour and weekend coverage
- Engaging in case review series and didactic lectures with residents and nuclear medicine imaging and therapy fellows
- Developing research credentials with support provided by the department
Additional information
The successful candidate will have extensive PET/CT experience and an opportunity to develop a specialized research focus in consultation with the division chief. Instructors receive research and educational support to prepare for an academic and/or clinical career.
Penn Radiology provides clinical services for the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia Veteran Affairs Medical Center, and affiliated outpatient imaging centers in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
