Instructor of Electrical Engineering or Cyber Engineering
Houston Christian University’s Department of Engineering is seeking faculty members who are passionate about teaching and mentoring students in a Christian work environment. Candidates should be available to begin work in the Fall of 2026 or later.
About the role
The successful candidate will teach a range of undergraduate electrical engineering and/or cyber engineering courses while participating in departmental activities such as curriculum development, student mentoring, committee work, and program assessment. The Department of Engineering is experiencing significant growth due to a generous scholarship, with numerous faculty openings anticipated beginning in Fall 2026.
Responsibilities
- Design and teach courses and labs in electrical engineering and/or cyber engineering
- Plan, implement, and assess classroom experiences per university policy
- Serve on college and university committees
- Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Cyber Engineering, with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the discipline
- Demonstrated teaching excellence and a willingness to use active learning techniques
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience using instructional technology
- Evidence of a willingness to serve students, the university, and the broader community
- Ability to articulate a vision for the role of the discipline at HCU that supports the university’s core convictions
- Active Christian faith and alignment with HCU’s statement of belief, as outlined in the Preamble to the By-Laws of the University and the “Ten Pillars Core Convictions of HCU”
