Instructor - NJSLA Math - Talent Search

Essential Functions

• To conduct an integrated academic Math NJSLA Prep course, teach students NJSLA test strategies.
• Conduct teaching and instructional activities using educational equipment, manipulatives, props and other learning aids.
• Prepare and submit a course outline prior to the start of the class.
• Affiliate with the planning, instruction and evaluation of tutoring and problem solving activities.
• Complete paperwork associated with classroom and project management.
• Make recommendations on students’ strength and needs.
• Report student learning and behavioral issues to the appropriate staff personnel.
• Affiliate with the training and evaluation of Teacher Assistants.

Additional Functions

• Transport students from one class location to another in a timely manner, ensuring proper supervision and safety of students.

Required Qualifications

• Two or more years of teaching experience at the middle school, high school or post-secondary level.
• Ability to plan, organize, develop and conduct a comprehensive instructional tutoring program for students enrolled in the Educational Talent Search Program, undergraduate or graduate degree in designated discipline.
• Experience working with minority or disadvantaged students at the middle school, high school or post-secondary level.

Salary Information

In compliance with the NJ Pay Transparency Law, the hourly range for this position is $40.00-$50.00 (USD).
