Instructor II, III or IV-Senior Fitness and Fitness Attendant

About the role

Provides quality fitness instruction for the benefit of participants. Days of work and hours vary with each class. Reports to a Recreation Coordinator. Part‑time position averaging less than 20 hours per week. Position will remain open until filled. The Fitness Attendant role is a secondary job to the Instructor role and is not an independent position.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and effective class instruction to registered participants; provide make‑up sessions as required.
• Develop and implement lesson plans.
• Participate in required trainings & safety meetings.
• Inspect classroom/program environment and equipment to ensure safety.
• Handle emergencies according to established procedures.
• Keep current on trends and advancements in assigned class activity/training using approved educational sources.
• Complete and maintain accurate administrative & record‑keeping tasks (participant medical assessments, written consent forms, written exercise plans, guest evaluations, descriptions for promotional brochures).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Fitness Attendant I duties: inspect and remove unsafe or broken fitness equipment; maintain a clean, safe, and organized fitness area; participate in special projects including shutdown week; attend required staff training (emergency preparedness, safety, policies
