Target Hourly/Salary Rate: $55,656 - $58,438; Commensurate with Qualifications
Appointment: Full-time
FLSA Status: Exempt
Bargaining Unit Announcement: This is NOT a bargaining unit position with American Federation of State, County & Municipal Employees (AFSCME).
Contingent Upon Funding: Not Applicable
Standard Work Schedule: Standard (M-F, 8-5)

Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach 30 credit hours over fall and spring semesters.
- Teaching assignment may include day, evenings, weekends, and/or multiple campus locations.
- Theory and hands-on teaching of all HVAC/R related subjects.
- Develop, revise and update curriculum in collaboration with the other department faculty and department chair.
- May develop and teach online courses.
- Instruct, support, advise, and provide timely feedback to students in accordance with DACC policy and procedures.
- Participate in and serve on department, division, and college committees, program advisory councils, task forces and working groups.
- Maintain professional and academic competence and participate in professional development activities.
- As appropriate, assist with cooperative education or clinical work site development and student placement.
- Will be expected to maintain office hours as mandated by division and college policy.
- Function as advisor to students, both individually and as assigned to student clubs and groups.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required
- Education and Experience: Associates Degree in HVAC/R or relevant
- Experience: Minimum of three (3) years experience as a HVAC/R Technician.
- Certification: EPA Section 608 Universal Certification.
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in HVAC/R or related field.
- Experience: Two years full-time equivalent teaching experience in a community college or post-secondary institution.
- Certification: Journeyman certification in refrigeration, gas, and sheet metal.
- Skills: Experience with media, evolving instructional technologies, and distance learning programs and delivery.
- Technology: Ability to use spreadsheet, word processing, presentation, and database software.
- Communication: Demonstrated experience teaching and relating to students from diverse academic, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds.
- Bilingual Competence: Bilingual competence in Spanish and English will be considered an asset.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort: Environment: Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
