Instructor, HVAC (9+3) (Cherokee Campus)

Job Responsibilities

• Teach HVAC courses to a diverse student body using effective teaching strategies
• Develop, revise, and maintain course materials
• Recommend/design new programs
• Maintain office hours
• Participate in appropriate professional development opportunities
• Participate in College and community activities, promote the mission of the College
• Develop/implement retention strategies
• Absorb/assist with student advising and registration
• Serve on College committees
• Promote institutional goals
• Assist with departmental administrative responsibilities

Teaching Performance

• The ability to present course materials through appropriate instructional strategies to facilitate the learning process

Instructional Development

• The development, revision, and maintenance of courses and curriculum through course objectives, outlines, and appropriate materials

Instructional Management

• The effective use of required office hours
• Exhibition of effective classroom management and control
• Timely and accurately submitted reports

Student Advisement

• The participation of the faculty member, when applicable, in assisting students in personal and professional development

Professional Development and College Engagement

• The participation in college and community service activities that promote the institution, along with ongoing professional development efforts designed to maintain and enhance skills, knowledge, and effectiveness in the position

Minimum And Additional Requirements

• Must hold a certificate in HVAC and have a minimum of 3 years of work experience
• Preferred Qualifications: Associate degree in HVAC and 5 years of work experience
