Responsibilities
- Deliver approved curriculum, content, and assessments in an applied learning environment
- Facilitate activities and discussions that engage diverse learning styles with targeted guidance and mentorship
- Interpret and administer assessments, offering constructive feedback to support student growth
- Integrate technology effectively to enrich educational experiences
- Act as an ambassador for TSTC programs, demonstrating core values of Excellence, Accountability, Service, and Integrity
Instructional Delivery
- Prepare and deliver high-quality instruction
- Develop course syllabi and instructional plans, organizing daily classes using creative and innovative techniques
Instructional Management
- Fulfill assigned teaching schedule
- Maintain accurate student records
- Maintain a safe instructional environment, including equipment security where applicable
- Ensure opportunities for student evaluation
Student Retention and Placement
- Provide timely, accurate, and comprehensive student advisement
- Collaborate with the Office of Student Success to share information on tutoring and retention programs
Program Recruitment and Promotion
- Participate in recruitment events and tours
- Assist in departmental recruitment planning

Requirements
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Certifications
- Verifiable work experience in Electrical Power & Controls or a closely related industry
- Ability to explain and demonstrate knowledge of:
- Electrical safety procedures, including PPE selection and lock out/tag out methods
- Recognition of nominal voltage, energized parts, and approach distances for proper NFPA 70E PPE selection
- Electrical wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints
- Utilization of electrical industry-specific tools, meters, and testing equipment
- DC and AC electrical circuits, systems, and components
- Electrical formulas used to calculate values such as volts, ohms, amperes, power, inductance, and capacitance
- Selection, installation, and maintenance of electric motor control systems and components
- Ladder logic related to PLC selection, installation, operation, and maintenance
- Identification of electrical motor characteristics for both DC and AC motors
- Application of the National Electric Code (NEC) to electrical installations
- Identification of electrical distribution and transmission systems, associated components, and their uses
- Various types of transformers and calculation of primary and secondary values
- Basic transformer connections for single-phase and three-phase electrical systems
- Electrical formulas for phase angle, real power, apparent power, reactive power, and power factor
- Selection, installation, and maintenance of electric motor speed control and drives for DC and AC motors
- Installation requirements for proper cable terminations, including shielding
- Electrical system component testing and maintenance procedures
Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Certifications
- TDLR Journeyman or Master Electrician License
- Verifiable work experience with Allen Bradley PLCs and Studio 5000 Software Suite
- Verifiable work experience with AutoCAD Software Suite
- Knowledge and ability to explain and apply fundamental switchgear protective relaying equipment with applications
- NCCER Electrical Certifications
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certifications

Verifiable and demonstrated experience required.
