Job Description

Provides instructional training related to the Drone program for the Public Safety Training Center.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for providing instruction and preparing lesson plans for established curriculum.
  • Delivers training related to the Drone Training program.
  • Continually promotes students’ development and effective use of skills in areas such as critical and analytical thinking, evaluation, communication, professionalism, customer service, computation, problem solving, and decision-making.
  • Maintains accurate, up-to-date records of student academic and attendance performance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Education and Experience/Training: Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree, significant related experience may substitute for education, minimum of four years UAS operations experience and knowledge of FAA regulations.
  • Communication: Advanced communication (verbal, written, and interpersonal) and organizational skills.
  • Software Proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency in Word Processing and PowerPoint Presentation software, as well as Internet and Email basic skills.
  • Assessment and Grading: Ability to assess and grade the progress of students.
  • Other Competencies: Critical Competencies Service Focus, Communication Quality of Work, Time Utilization, Collaboration, Adaptability, Continuous Improvement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education and Experience/Training: Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice or a related field.
  • Physical Demands/Working Conditions: The work is performed in a normal, professional office environment; typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the duties of the job and will perform repetitive motions with hands/fingers using a computer mouse and keyboard to type. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, pamphlets, books, etc.; Work may also require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite.

Set Rate of Pay

$25.00/hour.

Pooled Position

If hired, you must reside in the state of Ohio and be within commuting distance of this work location/campus to respond to onsite work demands upon the employment start date and throughout the duration of your employment with the College, as outlined in 3354:1-40-01.1.
