Instructor, Dialogues of Quantitative Reasoning

Lynn University’s College of Arts and Sciences seeks an Instructor for the Dialogues of Quantitative Reasoning, an internationally recognized, interdisciplinary core curriculum that blends collaborative in-class discussions and activities with real-world experience. Applicants should have academic and practical experiences that align with the Dialogues of Quantitative Reasoning. Faculty are required to teach courses in person on the Boca Raton, Florida campus. Most on-campus undergraduate classes meet Monday through Thursday in 2.5-hour sessions over four-week terms.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in accordance with college guidelines
  • Participate in the college’s assessment program of student performance
  • Respond promptly to student questions and concerns
  • Submit university reports and requirements—such as attendance, grades, and student progress reports—in a timely manner

Requirements

  • Proficiency with instructional technology, including learning management systems (e.g., Canvas) and presentation software (e.g., PowerPoint)
  • Appreciation of different learning styles and ability to incorporate them into instructional delivery
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher in mathematics or a discipline appropriate to the position (degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution)
  • Master’s degrees in business administration or other quantitative disciplines are not appropriate for this position
  • Preference may be given to applicants who hold a doctorate in a relevant discipline and/or have interdisciplinary teaching experience
