INSTRUCTOR, CTE - DESIGN & DIGITAL ARTS (DIGITAL DESIGN), 9TH-12TH GRADE

About the role

The digital design pathway is designed to develop student understanding and skills in photography, graphic design, animation, and visual arts. This instructor will teach courses such as digital photo, graphic design, multimedia, and 3D animation.

Responsibilities

  • Administers and manages activities within a specific area of a responsibility (CTE pathway/program).
  • Serves as the subject matter expert and applies gained knowledge to execute, maintain and improve systems, programs, or processes in the secondary classroom.
  • Teach diverse High School students career and technical education courses as outlined in the program of study.
  • Teach real-world, hands-on, and project-based courses for authentic job related experience.
  • Sponsor a Career & Technical Student Organization (CTSO) and maintain an Advisory Board for all program changes and updates.
  • Facilitate internships, job shadows, mentorships, college visits, and connections with Industry Personnel in the field.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or related industry credential.
  • Master’s Degree in related field preferred in all content areas and required for certain content areas with college coursework.
  • Three (3+) years of professional industry experience in the content area within the past 7 years or in the time designated by the Colorado Department of Education.
  • Three (3+) years of experience working with diverse populations.
  • Adjunct status with a community college in the content area, strongly preferred.
  • Must possess a CTE Authorization/License in the field of study according to CDE worksheets (CTE Media Arts Authorization).
  • A Multimedia credential is required for this role.
  • May need to attend additional training for industry or curriculum during summer or school year.

  • Bilingual (English and Spanish), preferred.

  • Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.

Ability to help all students develop competence and confidence simultaneously through a balance of acquiring basic skills and developing conceptual understanding in the career field of study.

Ability to monitor, supervise, coordinate and enforce rule of conduct and behavior for assigned students, and reinforce positive student behaviors in accordance with school and District policy.

Ability to observe, evaluate, report and record students' performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.

Ability to communicate with parents or guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators to resolve students' behavioral and academic problems.

Ability to establish and communicate clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects and administer and evaluate tests and assignments.

Ability to establish and maintain program compliance with program approval, including serving as an advisor to the appropriate career & technical student organization (CTSO) and maintaining a program advisory committee.

Pay

Salary set based on successful completion of onboarding and submission of all relevant documentation within 15 days of receiving offer letter.

Schedule

Full-time position, typically 40 hours per week.
