Instructor CRNA

About the Role

This position is responsible for providing didactic and clinical instruction in the nurse anesthesia program. This is a 0.2 FTE position.

Responsibilities

• Develops, designs, and delivers instruction in nurse anesthesia clinical and didactic courses.
• Engages in teaching, service, and scholarship.
• Participates in mentoring and advising students.
• Maintains office hours.
• Evaluates student progress in the classroom, clinical, and laboratory setting.
• Participates in development and maintenance of program records and databases.
• Assists with student recruitment, interviews, and admissions.
• Participates in implementation, evaluation, and revision of the nurse anesthesia didactic and clinical curriculum (10% Administration).
• Assists with maintaining the nurse anesthesia program in compliance with accreditation requirements.
• Performs administrative tasks as delegated by the Program Director.
• Participates in program, Grant Medical Center, and Otterbein University Division of Nursing committee work as assigned.
• Performs clinical duties as described in CRNA Job Description for Grant Medical Center (50% Clinical).
• Serves as a liaison and resource for students, clinical faculty, and affiliated sites.
• Assigns, supervises, and coordinates student activities at clinical sites.
• Documents and maintains records monitoring student clinical progress.
• Maintains expertise in the field by participating in clinical practice, professional organizations, and attending educational programs.
• Establishes collaborative relationships with individuals and agencies that affiliate with the nurse anesthesia program.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Nursing (Required).
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support - American Heart Association.
• CRNA - Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist - National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).
• Current licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Ohio.
• Holds a current, unencumbered APRN from the Ohio State Board of Nursing to practice as a CRNA.
• Graduate of an accredited nurse anesthesia educational program.
• Certified by the Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists.
• Recertified by the Council on Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists.
• 3 years of experience as a CRNA.
• ACLS Certification.
• Experience teaching nurse anesthesia students.

Schedule

Day shift, scheduled weekly hours: 8.
