About the role

This position will provide cross-program instructional support and lab assistance for associate in applied science degree programs within the School of Transportation and Heavy Equipment (STHE), including programs in automotive and heavy equipment technology.

Responsibilities

  • Provide cross-program instructional support and lab assistance for associate in applied science degree programs within the School of Transportation and Heavy Equipment (STHE), including programs in automotive and heavy equipment technology.
  • Evidence of a history of demonstrating ethical and professional behavior.
  • Minimum of five years of industry experience in automotive, diesel, or heavy equipment technology; five years preferred.
  • Demonstrated technical competency across both automotive and heavy equipment disciplines.
  • Teaching, training, or instructional support experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in collaborating with various constituencies.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Automotive Technology, Diesel Technology, Heavy Equipment Technology, or a related field required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Valid Oklahoma driver’s license.
  • Industry-recognized certification required; ASE certification and/or OEM program certification preferred.

Qualifications

  • Education Required: Associate degree or technical certification in Automotive Technology, Diesel Technology, Heavy Equipment Technology, or a related field required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience Required: Minimum of five years of industry experience in automotive, diesel, or heavy equipment technology; five years preferred.

Skills, Proficiencies, And/or Knowledge

  • Demonstrated knowledge of automotive systems, including engines, fuel systems, electrical/electronic systems, brake systems, and related areas.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of heavy equipment systems, including diesel engines, hydraulics, power trains, undercarriage, and related areas.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and fulfill complex initiatives.
  • Computer skills to include electronic communications, word processing, and the ability to use specific software associated with the position.
  • Ability to maintain high standards of work, initiative, commitment, ethics, professional responsibility, and judgment.
  • Superior interpersonal skills—including the ability to effectively recognize and resolve complex problems in a constructive manner.
  • Must exhibit characteristics of a team player, willing to take initiative and assume responsibility.
  • Ability to foster and support innovation and excellence.

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm with occasional evenings and weekends. Appointment Length: 9 months or less.

Hiring Range: $41250 - $45000 Commensurate with education and experience.
