Position Summary

The College of St. Scholastica invites applications for a full-time core faculty position in our entry-level Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program. Appointment, rank, and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Our DPT program prepares entry-level practitioners to meet the health care needs of society, with particular attention to rural communities. Graduates are recognized as leaders in compassionate, ethical, legal, and evidence-based practice.

  • A human gross anatomy lab

Required Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in physical therapy (DPT or equivalent)
  • Contemporary expertise in an area of physical therapy science or practice
  • Active, unrestricted physical therapy license and eligibility for Minnesota licensure
  • Demonstrated collegiality and commitment to inclusive practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Academic doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, ScD, DSc, or similar)
  • Clinical specialty in any area, with the following areas desired due to underrepresentation: Sports, Cardiovascular & Pulmonary, Clinical Electrophysiology, Oncology, Wound Management
  • Certification in Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy
  • Completion of a residency program
  • Record of scholarly productivity, including peer-reviewed abstracts, publications, and/or presentations
  • Technical expertise in motion analysis technologies (e.g., motion capture, force platforms, virtual reality, electromyography)
  • Teaching and research experience utilizing motion analysis equipment to study movement in healthy, aging, and pathological populations
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in graduate or professional-level teaching

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach DPT courses as assigned
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Use the learning management system to support student success
  • Collaborate with faculty to achieve program outcomes
  • Advise and mentor DPT students
  • Participate in admissions and enrollment processes
  • Assess and evaluate student academic and professional performance
  • Engage in curriculum development, program assessment, and strategic planning
  • Contribute to equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives
  • Engage in professional development to maintain teaching and clinical expertise
  • Maintain CAPTE scholarship expectations
  • Provide service to the institution and the profession
  • Participate in faculty governance, including meetings and committee service
  • Comply with college policies as outlined in the CSS Faculty Handbook

Pay

The approximate base compensation range is posted, but the actual offer will reflect our total compensation and benefits package. The offer will be determined by a number of factors including the selected candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, FTE, number of months worked, as well as internal equity among our team.
