Instructions for the use of cipher in messages

Purpose

This notice is to be posted in every Observation Post (O.P.) to guide the use of cipher in wireless messages conveying information.

Cipher Requirements

• Information regarding the movement and positions of troops must be transmitted in cipher.
• Names of units and formations must be transmitted in cipher.

Clear Transmission

Details not specified as requiring cipher may be sent in clear.
