About the role
Prevailance is seeking an Instructional Systems Designer (ISD) – eLearning to support NATO Headquarters Supreme Allied Commander Transformation (HQ SACT) Capability Development Management Support (CMDS) in Norfolk, Virginia. This position may require international travel approximately two to three times per year to NATO Education and Training Facilities. The Instructional Systems Designer collaborates with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), stakeholders, and NATO course providers to analyze learning requirements and design, develop, assess, and continuously improve eLearning and instructor-led training solutions. This position supports the instructional design lifecycle, including needs analysis, learning objectives, course structure, instructional content, assessments, evaluation, and implementation of NATO‑compliant learning products.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with SMEs and stakeholders across NATO nations, partners, and entities to conduct learning needs analyses, including Training Needs Analysis (TNA), and identify learning gaps and requirements
- Develop clear and measurable learning objectives aligned with identified needs and overall course goals
- Design course structures, modules, lessons, and assessments to ensure a logical flow of instructional content
- Develop instructional content from SME‑provided source materials using appropriate instructional design methodologies, including storyboard‑based and rapid‑development approaches
- Select and implement instructional strategies supporting engaging and effective learning experiences
