INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPORT TEAM, ST. MARGARET, MONTGOMERY COUNTY

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in Special Education, with certification, is preferred.
• Experience working with Middle School students is also preferred.
• Candidates with similar education/experience will be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Become familiar with students who have been identified as requiring support.
• Meet with students who might need support through testing, teacher referrals and behavior analysis.
• Work closely with classroom teachers to ensure students are receiving recommended accommodations and modifications.
• Report to IST Coordinator on a weekly basis with updates and/or concerns.
• Serve as the liaison between the school, families and external specialists (MCIU).
• Attend regular meetings with IST Coordinator, parents and staff to review student progress.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and communication.

Additional Responsibilities

• Create assessments using recommended modifications/accommodations as needed.
